(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang on Tuesday received US Ambassador, Acting Trade Representative Demetrios James Marantis, who is on a working visit to Vietnam. President Sang praised the US support for negotiations on the Trans-pacific Partnership Agreement and said that the Vietnamese Party and State will create favorable conditions for the negotiations to go smoothly. He added that Vietnam will try its best and hopes to receive US technical assistance in the negotiation process, which will be a pre-requisite to boost bilateral ties. Ambassador Demetrios James Marantis said both sides need to narrow differences to avoid disputes in a number of issues including goods, services, investment, labor, and the environment. He said he hoped that based on the results of negotiations on Vietnam-US trade cooperation, both countries will soon agree on the Trans-pacific Partnership.
