(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina hosted the 49^th anniversary of ASEAN’s foundation day in Buenos Aires on Monday.

More than 300 guests including government representatives, the Argentine Congress, and diplomatic delegation representatives attended the ceremony. Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador in Argentina Nguyễn Đình Thao said that with the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community this year, ASEAN represents an economic market of nearly 630 million people, the biggest in the world, with a combined GDP of than 2.6 trillion USD. Thao said ASEAN’s policy is to strengthen relations with all its partners in the interests of global peace, stability, and prosperity. ASEAN wants to boost cooperative ties with South American countries, particularly Argentina.
