(VOVWORLD) - Regional trade agreements (RTAs) and free trade agreements (FTAs) in Asia-Pacific were the main topic of an APEC dialogue in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said Asia-Pacific is home to half of the world’s FTAs and RTAs and making the best use of these agreements is crucial for regional economic, trade, and investment growth. Vietnam has successfully negotiated several agreements recently, he added.
“Vietnam has signed 12 FTAs and is currently negotiating other important agreements. These agreements have paved the way for Vietnamese products to enter regional and global markets,” Son noted.
APEC economies aim to establish a free trade area of Asia-Pacific (FTAAP).
