Vietnam, Hungary enhance multifaceted cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Hungary on Thursday agreed to continue to increase contacts and delegation exchanges at all levels.

During talks with visiting Vietnamese PM Pham Minh Chinh in Budapest, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that, as the EU’s rotating president for the last 6 months of 2024, Hungary will urge members to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement.
Hungary is ready to help Vietnamese businesses invest in Hungary in high-potential fields like IT and automobiles, he said.
PM Chinh said he hopes the European Commission will soon remove its yellow card for Vietnamese seafood.
The two PMs agreed that disputes should be resolved by peaceful means in line with international law and the United Nations Charter, which means never using force or threatening to use force.

At a joint press conference following the talks, Mr. Chinh said both sides are determined to soon reach a two-way trade turnover of 2 billion USD.
He called on Hungary to support ASEAN’s stance on the East Sea, which is to peacefully resolve disputes in line with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea; ensure security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea; and support the effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and negotiations for a substantive and effective maritime code of conduct.
