Vietnam – India diplomatic ties marked in HCM City

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam-India’s flourishing development of traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation was highlighted at a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties (1972 – 2022), held by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on Thursday.

Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Phan Van Mai applauded the support of Indian people in Ho Chi Minh City during the fourth COVID-19 outbreak including the delivery of medical equipment for frontline hospitals and necessities to several areas in the city.

He said he believes that this foundation-based cooperation will make the comprehensive strategic partnership, and the cooperation between HCM City and India in particular stronger for the interests of the two peoples, and for peace, stability, and prosperity in Asia and the world.

Consul General of India in HCM City Madan Mohan Sethi said he is pleased to learn that there’s a small Indian community that has built ties in HCMC. Some Indians have lived in the city for two to three decades and have become a part of it, so they understand the importance of friendship and cooperation with future generations, he added.
