Addressing the function, Mr. Trong hailed his guest’s visit to Vietnam as vivid proof of the Vietnam - India traditional friendship and fruitful comprehensive strategic partnership.
“Vietnam and India have longstanding friendship and their cultural connection dates back nearly 2,000 years. The Cham towers within the My Son sanctuary, which the Indian President visited the day before, is one of the age-old cultural, religious, and historical links between the two countries. President Ho Chi Minh and Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru met in Hanoi 64 years ago, laying a firm foundation for today’s bilateral ties,” Mr. Trong said.

He said he hopes both sides will do their utmost to encourage the younger generation to strengthen connectivity and deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
President Ram Nath Kovind said India always has great respect for the resilient and undaunted Vietnamese people. Mr. Kovind added he believes the flourishing Vietnamese and Indian relations will contribute to the stability and growth of the region and the globe.
