(VOVworld) – A seminar on Vietnam’s energy, oil and gas took place on Thursday in Hanoi.Under the theme “Investment and sustainable development”, the seminar focused on issues relating to the nation’s energy use and ways for Vietnam to meet its target of sustainable development and raise awareness of energy conservation among enterprises and social organization. Tran Viet Ngai, Chairman of the Vietnam Energy Association, said Vietnam is building a master plan for a national energy system: "Vietnam’s view is that energy development must be in line with socio-economic development. National energy development should match international integration and the effective use of national resources. Vietnam is gradually establishing an energy market, and diversifying ownership and business methods to maximize consumer benefits. It is focused on developing concurrently electricity and fossil fuel energy, new and renewable energy, a knowledge-based economy, investment, and energy conservation. Energy development goes along with environmental protection".

Seminar, participants shared their experiences in energy planning, management, and use, and discussed models of renewable energy and bio mass energy from agricultural produce in Vietnam.
