(VNA/VOVworld)- Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan is leading a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 14th Francophone Summit which opened in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday. The attendees discuss a wide range of issues around the theme “Francophone, environmental and economic challenges in the face of global governance.”

At a meeting with Secretary General of International Francophone Organisation (OIF) Abdou Diouf, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching importance to cooperation with OIF as well as other OIF members, pledging that Vietnam will continue to actively take part in Francophone activities. She also spoke highly the role played by the organization in protecting member countries’ interests and dealing with global issues. The Vietnamese Vice President said she hopes that OIF will continue to pay attention to its member states in Asia-Pacific, including Vietnam. The same day, Vice President Doan met with Djibouti’s Prime Minister, Haiti’s Foreign Minister and Romania’s Secretary of State to exchange bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and those countries. She also witnessed the signing ceremony of a French teaching project for diplomats and civil servants between Vietnam and OIF.
