(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Paralympic Association discussed with authorities from the Japanese prefecture of Nagasaki in Hanoi on Wednesday the development of sports for people with disabilities.

Vietnam, Japan promote sports for disabled people

Vice Chairman of the Association Hoang Du thanked the Japanese government and the National Paralympic Committee for supporting disabled Vietnamese athletes who are attending training courses on swimming and weightlifting in preparation for the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo. He said he hopes the Japanese prefecture will continue to help Vietnamese athletes participate in friendly competitions in Vietnam and Japan.

Parliamentarian Kobayashi Katsutoshi said he invites Vietnamese athletes to join training courses in Japan and pledges to provide them with necessary assistance.
