Vietnam, Japan urged to take lead in signing CPTPP

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked Vietnam and Japan, as strategic partners, to take the lead in promoting and signing the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP).

At a meeting on Tuesday in Hanoi with Japanese Minister of Economic Revitalization Toshimitsu Motegi, Phuc said the agreements will promote cooperation between CPTPP signatories and boost global trade. Phuc highlighted the significance of Minister Motegi’s visit saying it contributes to trade between Vietnam and Japan and in the Asia Pacific region. He praised the outcomes of the meeting between Minister Motegi and Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh which discussed ways to promote bilateral trade as well as the signing of the CPTPP agreement.
