Vietnam, Laos to boost cooperation at multilateral forums
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh have agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries at multilateral forums including the UN, ASEAN and sub-regional mechanisms.

During a meeting in Vientiane on Monday, the leaders discussed ways to enhance trade and investment and agreed to accelerate cooperative projects including the Hanoi-Vientiane expressway and the Vientiane- Vung Ang railroad.
They underlined the need to effectively implement a 5-year bilateral cooperation agreement until 2025 and a 10-year cooperation strategy until 2030.
The same day, President Phuc met some former senior Lao leaders.
During the 2-day visit, which will conclude on Tuesday, President Phuc will meet the Lao National Assembly Chairman and deliver a speech at the Lao National Assembly.
