He noted that Vietnam has sent personnel to the UN peacekeeping forces since 2014 and has made an active contribution. It deployed a Level-2 field hospital to the UN Mission in South Sudan for the first time in October 2018. So far Vietnam has sent 75 officers, 16 of them female, to the peacekeeping force, ranking 62nd among UN member states.

He also praised the Vietnamese officers’ professionalism, dedication, effort, and sacrifice while performing their duties in a difficult environment, and expressed his sympathy for the death of Lt. Col. Do Anh, who died this year while working for the UN mission in the Central African Republic.
