Vietnam marks 50 years of President Ho Chi Minh’s testament
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on Sunday offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Temple in Ba Vi Mountain on the outskirts of Hanoi.

The ceremony marks the 74th August Revolution on August 19, and the 50th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s testament. On this occasion, Prime Minister Phuc and Chairwoman Ngan presented 16 scholarships to students living in the buffer zone of Ba Vi National Park.
Meanwhile, a display is being held in Hanoi featuring 250 items, photos, and documentaries which portray Vietnam’s achievements since the implementation of President Ho’s testament.
“The display gives visitors an insight into Vietnam’s struggle for national reunification and its achievements in national construction and defense after 50 years of implementing President HCM’s testament. At the end of his testament, President Ho wrote that his most driving aspiration, his highest purpose in life was that Vietnam becomes a country of peace, unification, independence, democracy and prosperity”, said Do Van Tru, Vice Chairman of the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam.
The display will be open until December.
President Ho Chi Minh began writing his will in May 1965 and finished it in May 1969 – just four months before he passed away. The special document has become a guideline for Vietnam’s revolution and development during the past 50 years.
