Vietnam marks 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation
(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnam People Army’s General Department of Politics hosted a talk in Hanoi on Saturday night, where the army’s staff exchanged views with exemplary people who are heroes of the armed forces, heroes of labor, and others who have made great contribution to the army building and national construction and defense.
Lieutenant colonel Ngo Hong Son of the Air Defense Force has undertaken many rescue missions in Vietnam’s sea and islands. He said: “I have accomplished our tasks no matter how tough the tasks are. I am honored to be a pilot. It’s a sacred task of defending the fatherland’s sea and islands and helping the fishermen. Our flights have asserted Vietnam’s sovereignty.”
On Saturday, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a get-together with labor heroes and outstanding workers, who are in Hanoi to attend a meeting to mark the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation. Delegates highlighted the outcomes of their work and their contributions to national unity. Tran Hong Quang said following the President’s appeal, he and his colleagues have worked harder to make a better society: “After serving the army, I am involved in managing state-owned enterprises. I and other staff have responded to emulation campaigns launched by ministries and sectors. I always try my best to implement Uncle Ho’s teachings. I am well aware that the patriotic emulation movement will make collectives and individuals successful.”
The same day, the Vietnam Women Union and the Ministry of Public Security hosted meetings with exemplary people who have excelled in their work and life.
