(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam has surpassed Belarus to occupy 96th place in the global Football Federation's Rankings (FIFA), according to football-ranking.com.

Their wins over Singapore and India at the just-concluded Hung Thinh Friendly Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City, helped Vietnam rise one place to 96th in the world, 17th in Asia and 1st in Southeast Asia.
Before the friendly tournament, Vietnam ranked 97th in FIFA with 1,218.84 points. Two wins over Singapore 4-0 and India 3-0 helped Vietnam accumulate 3.05 and 4.76 points, respectively. After these matches, coach Park Hang-seo's players earned 1,226.65 points.
The next FIFA ranking is expected to be announced on October 6. It will be the 30th consecutive time Vietnam is in the Top 100 globally.
