Vietnam, New Zealand enhance defense cooperation

Vietnam and New Zealand have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the near future, including naval affairs, search and rescue, fire prevention and human resources training. Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Lieut. Gen. Vo Van Tuan and Paul Sinclair, Head of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Defense of New Zealand signed the agreement at a meeting in Hanoi yesterday. The two sides reviewed past development of bilateral ties, including the exchange of delegations and training of defense personnel.
