Vietnam nominated for World Travel Awards 2019
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has been nominated for six prestigious prizes at the 2019 World Travel Awards (WTA) which is scheduled to take place later this year.
Vietnam is nominated in the World’s Leading Destination, Culinary Destination, and Cultural Destination categories. The capital city of Hanoi and the ancient city of Hoi An have been selected to compete for the titles of World’s Leading City Destination and World’s Leading Cultural City Destination, respectively. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is in contention for the World’s Leading Tourist Board.
The award ceremony for the Asian region is slated to be held in Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island on October 12, while the global event is set to get underway in Oman in November.
First held in 1993, the annual WTA honors outstanding destinations and high-quality tourism service providers.
Last year, Vietnam won the Asia’s Leading Destination category.
