Vietnam partners with RoK’s Naver to advance AI ambitions
(VOVWORLD) - The Nikkei Asia newspaper on Wednesday reported on Vietnam’s cooperation with South Korean tech giant Naver as part of a national strategy to become a global player in artificial intelligence (AI) by the start of the next decade.

The Naver Group has teamed with Hanoi University of Science and Technology to launch the first AI research center in Vietnam. The facility will play a major role in nurturing Hanoi’s high-tech sector and making Vietnam an AI research and development leader by 2030.
Naver’s partnership with Vietnam is part of an international network for AI R&D. Naver launched its Global AI R&D Belt initiative in 2019 to connect software engineers and facilities in South Korea, Japan, the European Union and Vietnam. In August, Naver signed a cooperation agreement with Vietnam's Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology on AI investment, development and training. Vietnam's AI strategy is a major part of the economic goals for 2030. The government wants Vietnam to establish recognized AI services by 2030.
