A number of international commercial flights have already resumed.
Tourism authorities are studying effective stimulus initiatives in other countries.
Luu Duc Ke, Deputy General Director of the Viet Media Travel Corporation, said, “Tourism re-invigoration requires a collective effort by businesses, local authorities, and the government. Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and Italy are offering a host of promotions for travelers. I recommend transparent rewards and punishments and strict monitoring of travel companies committed to the tourism stimulus program.”
A restructuring of tourism agencies and innovative products and promotion programs are needed to satisfy the travel demands and trends of the domestic market in the “new normal” period.
Hoang Nhan Chinh, Secretary General of the Tourism Advisory Board, told VOV: “Tour operators must commit to safety measures so that travelers will feel secure in booking tourism services. New tourism products will be designed to cater to domestic customers. I’m confident that Vietnam’s tourism industry will become busy again, even with COVID-19.”
