Vietnam pledges cooperation in preventing cyber attacks
(VOVworld)- On Thursday, the spokesperson for Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry Le Hai Binh responded to reporters ‘ queries on Vietnam’s reaction to cyber attacks against the computer system and websites of a number of Vietnamese airlines and at Noi Bai and International Airports that left messages concerning sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracell) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos. Mr. Le Hai Binh said: “All cyber attacks and hacking activities must be condemned and seriously dealt with. Vietnam’s relevant agencies took prompt measures to ensure security, safety and normal operations at the airports. Vietnamese cyber security agencies are investigating the incidents. Relevant Vietnamese agencies and the Foreign Ministry want to cooperate with the international community to fight against cyber attacks”.
In response to the question on Vietnam’s reaction to China’s launch of a website on the East Sea, in which Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes are called China’s Xisha and Nam Sha, Mr. Binh said this act of China doesn’t change the fact that Vietnam has indisputable sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracell) and Truong Sa (Spratley) archipelagos.
