So far this year, Vietnam’s total export revenue was 122.8 billion USD while it spent 117.3 billion USD on imports, resulting in a trade surplus of 5.46 billion USD.
Vietnam’s major earners were computers, electronic devices and spare parts, mobile phones and spare parts, garments, textiles, and footwear.
A trade surplus will he helpful to Vietnam’s foreign exchange reserves, international balance of payments, and the VND exchange rate. This was a particularly encouraging result for a period in which the COVID-19 pandemic was devastating markets.
