Vietnam promotes mutual recognition of vaccine passports: FM spokesperson
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is working with partners to ensure early mutual recognition of vaccine passports with 80 countries and territories.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang told the press during a regular online briefing on Thursday that Vietnam will have proper policies to support immigration as well as foreign business people and investors in Vietnam. She said Vietnam has temporarily recognized vaccine passports from 72 countries and some of them have recognized Vietnam's vaccination or Covid-19 recovery certificates in migration approval.
Hang says '72 countries and territories have introduced their vaccination certificate samples to the Foreign Ministry. Accordingly, those papers are valid in Vietnam and the holders must quarantine for 7 days if they were double jabbed or have recovered from COVID-19. The Foreign Ministry has talked to nearly 80 partners for mutual recognition of inoculation certificates or vaccine passports. It has consulted with relevant ministries and agencies to make recommendation on immigration procedures.'
The spokeswoman talked about the government support for foreign businesses and investors in Vietnam, 'The government has accelerated its measures to contain the pandemic and address business difficulties by issuing resolutions and policies to support businesses challenged by the pandemic. The government has always listened to, shared and created best condition for foreign investors to overcome their difficulties and create a new normal for business recovery as soon as possible to prevent supply chain disruption and facilitate transport services nationwide while ensuring that provinces will not issue improper regulations.'
