Vietnam proposes solutions to COVID-19 impact on migrants
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has called on countries and international organisations to set forth roadmaps or frameworks and mechanisms for result-oriented cooperation in order to more effectively implement the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (GCM) to address negative impact of COVID-19 on migrants.

Phan Chi Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand and Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN's Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) made the call at the Asia-Pacific regional review of implementation of the GCM, held virtually in Thailand on Friday and Saturday.
He affirmed that Vietnam considers the GCM an important progress in international cooperation in migration and a result of countries' unity and responsibility sharing toward legal, safe, and orderly migration for inclusive and sustainable development.
