Vietnam, Qatar improve economic cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu visited Qatar on Monday and Tuesday, where he co-chaired a political consultation with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.

The two sides expressed delight at the development of their bilateral friendship and partnership, particularly in politics, diplomacy, economy, and energy.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said Qatar treasures its friendship and partnership with Vietnam, adding that he hopes to visit Vietnam soon to enhance their bilateral economic ties.
The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation and better coordinate in hosting celebrations of the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

They agreed to soon co-organise a third meeting of the Vietnam-Qatar Inter-Governmental Committee; increase delegation exchanges; further support each other at international forums; bolster promotion of trade, investment, and tourism; facilitate two-way trade; add more commercial flights connecting the two nations; and beef up collaboration in energy security and food security.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hieu visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Doha and met representatives of the Vietnamese community living, working, and studying in Qatar.
