Vietnam ranks 1st in cashew nut export for 8 years in a row

This is the 8th consecutive year Vietnam surpassed India to champion the world in cashew core export. Chairman of Vietnam Cashew nut Association, Nguyen Duc Thanh, said that this reflected a major effort by the businesses in the context of global economic downturn and shrinking market:“We will promote downstream processing this year to raise export turnover to 2 million dollars while export volume will be kept unchanged to focus on added value. Several West African countries have been contracted to promote more raw supplies to Vietnam to ensure sufficient of supplies to local factories.”
