(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Tuesday received outgoing US ambassador to Vietnam David Shear. He said that Vietnam is ready to hold dialogue with the US on issues of concern including human rights on the basis of mutual respect and understanding. Regarding TPP negotiations, he said that the agreement would offer big opportunities for economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. He also said he hoped the US would continue its support for Vietnam.

The US ambassador proposed strengthened cooperation in economics, trade, investment and TPP negotiations. Regarding the East Sea, he said China’s sovereignty claim is one of the root causes of the insecurity and instability in the region. He said that the US supported peaceful dispute settlements in the East Sea in line with international law.
