Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga, Vietnamese Governor at the ASEF, praised the forum’s contribution to policy implementation and Vietnam’s role as a founding member. She said“The Foundation is the only ASEM voluntary mechanism, to which Vietnam contributed dozens of thousands USD annually. This funding helps promote mutual cooperation. In 20 years, Vietnam has received the foundation’s support worth some 1.6 million USD in 50 activities.”

 Nga said Vietnam always attaches importance to ASEM and backs the important role of ASEF in strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between the two continents’ people and in fostering the Asia-Europe partnership.
