Vietnam records fast digital economy growth in Southeast Asia
(VOVWORLD) - A report from from Google, Temasek Holdings and Bain & Company for 2020 shows that Southeast Asia’s digital economy has reached 100 billion USD with 40 million Internet users. The figure is expected to exceed 300 billion USD in 2025.

Vietnam takes the lead in the region for e-commerce growth and its internet economy is expected to rise from 12 billion USD last year to 14 billion USD this year, according to the report.
Vietnam’s digital economy has expanded in all sectors, particularly transport and food delivery. This year e-booking for vehicle, transport, and food delivery earned 1.6 billion USD, 50% higher than 2019. E-commerce has increased 46% from 5 billion USD to 7 billion USD, while online communications grew 18% to 3.3 billion USD.
