(VOVWORLD) -International visitors to Vietnam in July hit 352 thousand, up 49% over the previous month and 47 times higher than the same period last year, the General Statistics Office said on Friday.

In the first 7 months of 2022, international visitors to the country reached 954 thousand, 10 times higher than the same period last year but down 90.3% compared to the same period in 2019, before the COVID-19 was detected.
The National Administration of Tourism quoted Google data as saying foreign searches about Vietnam's tourism is on the rise month by month. By early July, the search volume had tripled compared to the early March.
In the remaining months of the year, the tourism industry will continues to promote the image of Vietnam's tourism to the international market and build new tourism development models such as regional linkage, sea and island tourism, and community tourism.
