Vietnam resolutely opposes and demands Chinese Taipei to cancel illegal live-fire drill
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam resolutely opposes and demands Chinese Taipei to cancel its live-fire exercises in the waters around Ba Binh island in Vietnam's Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and not to repeat similar actions in the future, spokeswoman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said on Friday.

Answering reporters’ query on Vietnam’s response to the live-fire drill conducted by Chinese Taipei, Hang said it seriously violates Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly), threatens peace, stability, safety and security of navigation, induces tensions and complicates the situation in the East Sea.
She stressed that Vietnam has full legal grounds and historical evidence to assert its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes in accordance with international law
