Vietnam, RoK deepen bilateral ties

President Quang conveyed his congratulations to Mr. Moon Jae-In for being elected the 19th President of the Republic of Korea. President Quang urged the two countries to increase exchanges to strengthen mutual political trust and expand cooperation. The Vietnamese President said he hoped the two sides will work closely to implement the Vietnam-Republic of Korea Free Trade Agreement to raise two way trade to 70 billion USD by 2020. Quang urged the Republic of Korea to prioritize ODA and preferential credits for Vietnam. He also invited President Moon Jae-in to attend the APEC Summit to be held in Da Nang in November. Mr. Park Won-soon said his visit to Vietnam represents the Republic of Korea’s respect for Vietnam and ASEAN countries in general. He said that Korea wanted to further bilateral ties with Vietnam for the benefit of the two peoples and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the wider world.
