Vietnam, RoK promote trade cooperation

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien was speaking while receiving Oh Yong Ju, ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Dien suggested that Ambassador Oh and the RoK Embassy support connections between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and relevant RoK ministries and agencies to enhance bilateral trade, industry and energy cooperation towards raising bilateral trade to 100 billion USD in the near future.

Ambassador Oh said the RoK wishes to sign a number of documents with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including an MoU on the establishment of the Vietnam-RoK center for essential minerals supply, an MoU on the establishment of Korea Plus in Vietnam and Vietnam Plus in the RoK, and a joint statement on the establishment of an electronic C/O data exchange system.

She also said despite the global economic fluctuations, RoK businesses remain keen to invest in and expand their production bases in Vietnam, especially in core technology areas such as energy batteries or semiconductors.

She vowed to strive to further promote the comprehensive strategic partnership in the coming time.
