(VOVworld) – The Vietnam – Republic of Korea Joint Committee on cooperation in nuclear power, industry, energy, and trade convened its 5th session in Seoul on Tuesday to review cooperation over the years and set out future cooperation plans. Vietnamese delegates were led by Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang. The meeting reflects commitments by both countries’ leaders to strengthen bilateral ties in those fields.

Earlier, sub-committees on cooperation in technology, industry, nuclear power, energy, natural resources, and trade met in Seoul to report on their operations since November of last year and proposed action programs to carry out the agreed cooperation. They reached consensus on the need for more effective cooperative programs. At the end of the meeting, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy acknowledged closer strategic cooperation and partnership between the two nations.
The session’s outcomes will be reported to Vietnamese and Korean leaders during Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the RoK to attend the 25th anniversary of ASEAN- RoK Dialogue Relations.
