Deputy Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Manh Tien told the media that the visit will further promote the cooperative relationship between the two legislative bodies and consolidate political trust and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The visit, Mr. Tien said, demonstrates the respect of the Russian Federation's leadership for Vietnam and is a highlight in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

According to Mr, Tien, during the 2-day visit, Chairman Volodin will attend the second session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

The Committee, which is co-chaired by the Chairmen of the two legislative bodies, is the first and highest model of parliamentary cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and a foreign parliament.

The two sides are expected to review the implementation of agreements between the two countries and consider issues that need to be adjusted or supplemented.
