Vietnam, Russia mark 50th anniversary of preserving President Ho Chi Minh’s remains

(VOVWORLD) - The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia held a ceremony in Moscow on Tuesday marking the 50th anniversary of preserving President Ho Chi Minh’s body.

Deputy Chief of the Mausoleum Management Board Bui Hai Son praised Vietnam-Russia cooperation in safe maintenance of President Ho Chi Minh’s remains. He underscored the heartfelt and effective assistance of Russia. He said: “Helping preserve President Ho Chi Minh’s body shows the special love that the Soviet Union and today’s Russia have given Vietnam and its revered President.”

Mr. Son said he wants continued help from Russian experts in research, technology transfer, and personnel training, to better secure and preserve President Ho Chi Minh’s remains.

At the ceremony, Orders and Medals were presented to 2 research centers and 23 individuals of Russia for their contributions to the maintenance of President Ho Chi Minh’s body.
