Vietnam seeks ways to promote circular economy

(VOVWORLD) - Wind and solar power made up more than 10% of global electricity output  for the first time last year, and Vietnam was among 50 countries to surpass this mark, according to the Vietnam Circular Economy Forum 2022 in Hanoi on Tuesday.

The figure demonstrates Vietnam’s dedication to its commitment of net zero emissions by 2050, said representatives of international organizations at the forum. Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha reiterated Vietnam’s policy of building a green, circular, and environmentally friendly economy. 

“Our political will and swift action in this matter have been demonstrated at the 13th National Party Congress and the enforcement of the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection,” he said.

At the forum, domestic and international partners shared successful global circular economy models so as to identify suitable ones for Vietnam.
