Vietnam sees improvements in business environment
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s business and investment environment and competitiveness have greatly improved, becoming the focus of Government activities in the past 5 years, according to a new report from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
Economists say measures to improve the business climate and support businesses continue to be implemented. In particular, the Government last year requested a slash of 20% of business-related regulations.
Despite the improvements, Vu Tien Loc, VCCI’s Chairman, says more should be done on administrative procedures and transparency.
“We have made it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the market. But there remain lots of obstacles for major enterprises to invest in areas that require a large investment and much time to recoup the investment,” said Loc.
