Trung said Vietnam agreed with the report’s recommendations to increase financing for preparedness through a combination of global, regional and national financing mechanisms.
Ambassador Trung praised the report as an effort to deepen understanding about preparedness at a time when the UN is working on its post-2015 development agenda and new sustainable development goals.
He underscored the role of policies and laws, and the involvement of the entire political system, ministries, local authorities, political-social organizations, and the public in natural disaster and climate change mitigation.
