(VOVWORLD) - 400 delegates gathered at the Vietnam Socio-Economic Forum 2023 in Hanoi on Tuesday to discuss immediate and long-term solutions to promote sustainable development in Vietnam.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the forum and delivered the opening remarks.
Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Duc Hien said: "The forum focuses on addressing pressing short-term challenges concerning Vietnam's socio-economic development in 2023. It places a strong emphasis on tackling issues related to resource mobilization, barrier removal, and bottleneck resolution, with a primary focus on advancing economic growth."
Mr. Hien said this includes critical areas such as fostering innovation, advancing science and technology, and shaping human resource development policies. Furthermore, the forum actively promotes the restructuring of industries to drive industrialization and modernization, he added.
The forum includes a plenary session and two thematic sessions helping businesses overcome difficulties, improving labor productivity, and ensuring social security in the new context.
Themed "Reinforcing internal capacity, generating drivers for growth and sustainable development", the event connects online with domestic and international academies, universities, speakers, and scientists. The Forum is hosted by the Economic Committee of the National Assembly, the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
