Vietnam can also export items that Bangladesh needs such as agricultural machinery, home appliances, electronics, and processed seafood, Mr. Hue said, adding that there is potential for the two countries to cooperate in aquaculture, agriculture, science and technology, education, and climate change response.
President Shahabuddin encouraged Vietnamese businesses to invest in Bangladesh and supported the opening of a direct air route between the two countries.
The two sides agreed that mutual trust and understanding have been strengthened.
Two-way trade has quadrupled over the past 10 years, from 350 million USD in 2012 to 1.5 billion USD in 2022.
Chairman Hue said that Vietnam always supports Bangladesh’s effort to enhance its ties with ASEAN.
