(VOVWORLD) -Head of the Party Central Committee’s External Affairs Commission, Hoang Binh Quan, told the press on Wednesday on the sideline of the 13th National Party Congress that Vietnam has pursued a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development through diversification and multilateralization of foreign relations.

He said Vietnam is striving for in-depth integration for a safer, better off and happier world. “The Congress's draft documents talk about strengthening multilateral and bilateral relations, which means Vietnam will do more for practical and efficient bilateral relations for deeper political mutual trust, friendship and cooperation. The Party’s existing resolutions on strengthening multilateral ties say Vietnam is not only an active participant in bilateral mechanism but also a proactive participant in multilateral mechanisms as reflected in our foreign policy in the next term.”

The Communist Party of Vietnam has received nearly 350 telegrams of congratulations from political parties, heads of states and international organizations on the occasion of the National Party Congress, demonstrating international friends’ trust in Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
