(VOVworld) – Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Vinh led a Vietnamese delegation to the 20^th ASEAN-China Senior Officials’ Meeting on the ASEAN-China partnership in Thailand.

They also attended the 7^th Meeting on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and consultations on the Code of the Conduct in the East Sea. The Vietnamese delegation has actively participated in consultations and has been promoting an ASEAN-China dialogue and is closely aligned with ASEAN’s point of view. Mr. Vinh spoke highly of the ASEAN-China strategic partnership, as well as bilateral cooperation in recent years. Deputy Foreign Minister Vinh stressed the need to assure peace, maritime safety and security in the East Sea, promote ASEAN-China consultations and the full implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea. He added that it is essential to comply with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and soon come to an agreement on the Code of the Conduct in the East Sea.
