(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam aims to earn over 26 billion USD from its export of agricultural products such as fruits, rice, cashew, and timber by 2030, according to the Crop Development Strategy until 2030, vision to 2050, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.

The average growth rate of crop production value is 2.2-2.5% per year and processing industry averages 8-10% a year.
By 2050, farming is set to become a modern economic and technical industry, among the top in the region and the world, the strategy said, adding Vietnam should become the deep processing center of world agriculture.
Vietnam maintains 3.56 million hectares of rice growing land, of which 3 million hectares of land is specialized for wet rice cultivation, with an output of over 35 million tons of rice. This helps ensure food security, meet consumption, processing, storage and export needs, according to the strategy.
