According to the Joint Statement, the two leaders were strongly committed to promoting the enhanced Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Thailand. In particular, the two sides will work to make the most of the sister city framework between localities for more extensive people-to-people exchanges, especially between the young generations of the two countries, and strengthen partnership in regional and international affairs.

The two leaders assigned relevant agencies to simplify import-export procedures; facilitate cross-border trade activities and the transit of goods to third countries; resolving investment problems; and study new areas of cooperation to further promote bilateral investment between Vietnam and Thailand.

On global and regional issues, they agreed to work closely to promote ASEAN's centrality and efforts in addressing emerging issues. The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of maintaining and promoting peace, security, stability, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, as well as the benefits of maintaining the East Sea of peace, stability and prosperity.

The two sides emphasized their commitment to support the peaceful resolution of disputes, without the threat or use of force, in accordance with international law, and with full respect for legal and diplomatic processes. They stressed the importance of fully and effectively implementing the 2002 Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC).
