Vietnam tightens management of plastic waste imports
(VOVWORLD) - The General Department of Customs says organizations and individuals are no longer transporting waste and scrap that violates the law into Vietnamese territory, causing a backlog at seaports.
Since July, the Department has cracked down on imported scrap and implemented measures to detect illegal materials while still on board.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has asked ministries, agencies, and localities to set up an interdisciplinary working group to deal with imported scrap at all Vietnamese ports.
