Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai told Timor Leste Minister of Commerce, Industry and Environment Constancio da Conceicao Pinto, in Hanoi on Monday, that the cooperative relations between Vietnam and Timor Leste have been deloping, adding that Pinto’s visit will be a landmark in boosting bilateral economic cooperation. In response, Pinto said that strengthening cooperation with Vietnam is one of Timor Leste’s top priorities. He spoke highly Vietnam’s support for Timor Leste acceding to the ASEAN. He also appreciated Vietnam in sending its experts to Timor Leste to help training.
Earlier the same day, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Timor Leste’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment signed a memorandum of understanding on rice trade. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said Vietnamese enterprises will be Timor Leste’s reliable partner, adding that Vietnam will create favorable conditions for enterprises between the two countries to boost their trade and investment.
