Vietnam to apply vaccine e-passport shortly
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese authorities are working to soon implement a ‘vaccine passport’ programme and adjust entry and exit regulations to facilitate foreign entries into the country.
Deputy Foreign Ministry spokesperson Doan Khac Viet made the remarks on Thursday during a press briefing in response to reporters’ questions on plans to expand the ‘vaccine passport’ programme. On August 4, the Ministry of Health issued guidelines on new quarantine protocols for people who have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines or have recovered from the disease.
Viet said this will help authorities make policy for Covid passport soon. 'To achieve the dual goal of pandemic containment and socio-economic development, Vietnamese authorities are expediting the implementation of vaccine passports, revising regulations on exit and entry to facilitate the entry of foreign experts, workers, and investors into Viet Nam, as well as studying and piloting the tourism sandbox model for fully vaccinated tourists from overseas,”
The deputy spokesman thanked the world community, international partners and organizations for supporting Vietnam’s pandemic control effort and their trust in the country’s keeping the virus under control soon.
