Vietnam to host 14th informal ASEM seminar on human rights
The 12th informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights took place in Seoul, Korea.
(VOVworld) - The 14th informal seminar on human rights at the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Forum will take place in Hanoi next week, serving as an important channel for the two continents to increase dialogue and mutual understanding on the issue. The event, the first of its kind in Vietnam, is themed “Human Rights and Businesses”, and is expected to make active contributions to realizing the Vietnamese Party and State’s policy on international integration, especially in protecting human rights, as well as promoting the country’s achievements in the field. This also demonstrates Vietnam’s respect for human rights and helps deepen its bilateral relationship with other ASEM member countries.
The seminar will focus on responsibilities to protect human rights in nations and business, and victims’ rights to be compensated, in order to boost cooperation among concerned parties in human rights protection. A sideline workshop on labor agreement and rights will be held during the seminar, which is expected to draw around 120 delegates from ASEM nations and non-governmental organizations.
