Mr. Vinh suggested the two sides  make their cooperation more pragmatic, focusing on training and the defence industry. Affiliates of Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence are eager to exchange with their New Zealand counterparts to seek measures to expand their collaboration in the field, he said.

Ms. Matthews described defence cooperation as an important pillar in relations between Vietnam and New Zealand. She pledged to do her utmost to deepen the two countries’ defence ties.
