(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam treasures and strengthens the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Armenia towards developing their effective, substantial, and sustainable relationship for the benefits of the two peoples, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Mr. Phuc told reporters about outcomes of his talk with visiting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, in Hanoi, on Friday: “I affirm Vietnam’s consistent policy of respecting the good traditional relationship between the two countries and appreciating their good political ties. At the just concluded talk, we discussed specific measures to boost comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia.”
Prime Minister Pashinyan said his Vietnam visit will create a breakthrough in bilateral ties, contribute to Armenia-Vietnam cooperation, and live up to the expectations of the leaders and interests of people of the two countries.
Both sides agreed to increase delegation exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy, continue to coordinate actions at the UN, the Francophone Community, and the Non-Aligned Movement, and contribute to peace, stability, and development.
The two Prime Ministers agreed to improve the operation of the Vietnam-Armenia Inter-governmental Committee on economics-trade and science-technology, focus on implementing the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, of which Armenia is a member. Both consented to expand cooperation education-training, health care, culture, sports, tourism, security, and defense.
